We collect information you provide during registration, including your full name, email address, university, and country. We also collect submission data (project titles, descriptions, and uploaded files), team membership information, and voting activity.

Your information is used to manage your competition account, process submissions, facilitate team collaboration, communicate competition updates, and send transactional emails (registration confirmation, submission receipts, results announcements). We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Files are stored on Google Cloud Storage with access controls. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. We retain your data for the duration of the competition and a reasonable period thereafter for archival purposes.
4. Cookies
We use minimal cookies for authentication (JWT tokens) and language preference (locale selection). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
5. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at info@asalah.ae. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be removed, though anonymized submission records may be retained for competition archives.
